OSHA training required on Missouri public works jobs (Posted May 14, 2009)
HB 1459 (click here for full bill text) requires all workers on public construction jobs to have a minimum of 10 Hour OSHA training. The law, signed by Governor Matt Blunt, poses penalties for contractors each day untrained workers are on the project. The new law takes effect August 28, 2009. SMACNA – KC is currently scheduling classes to ensure Local 2 contractors will have the trained people they need on upcoming prevailing wage work scheduled this summer. If you do not have a current 10 hour or 30 hour OSHA card, call Ken Grist at 816-421-3360 or e-mail at safety@smacnakc.com to sign up for the next available class.
